WITH BRANDI STUBER, E-RYT-200

Brandi has been teaching yoga in Medicine Hat and surrounding area since 2012. Her intuitive teaching style allows students to find connection, acceptance, and stillness within their practice. Since completing her 200 HR YTT with Meghan Currie in 2013, and many years of practice with her mentor Tom Wilde, she has applied her understanding of alignment and vinyasa into a practice that aims to strip away unnecessary tension held into the body to expand capacity for space, and integrity.

“The Kindred Yoga teacher training is an excellent program. The course was incredibly well thought out and the execution of it by our teacher couldn’t have been better.”

move for millie - a fundraiser

you know that feeling when some thing moves you, when you feel compelled to do some thing, when you are touched, when you have to take action? maybe we have felt it upon hearing someone’s circumstances, seen the look on someone's face, or reading how someone's heart is so big that you can't help but feel your heart grow to the same size. that’s what happened when we read about millie:

millie is a young dog that was found with two puppies on a farm. she has broken infected teeth in her mouth and one of her legs was cut off. she requires full amputation of the rest of her front leg, including her scapula (shoulder), along with fixing or removing the broken infected teeth in her mouth, and being spayed, but she has to wait until her puppies are old enough to be weaned before she can have the operation. she is currently fighting infection. we are so grateful that people have taken her in and are willing to get her the help she needs, but there are a lot of costs to cover, so let's join together.

join kristi campbell and brandi stuber on friday march 23, from 6:30-8:30pm  as we co-teach a practice that taps into our ability to be moved by another into our soft spot—our place of compassion. the evening will be inspired by what moves us to connect, to help, to give:

move into heart with kristi campbell. experience the freedom we cultivate by allowing ourselves to flow free of restriction or judgment, and into compassion, expanding our capacity to give to ourselves and our community.

move into harmony with brandi stuber. our connection to stillness is the container for our connection to others, we will tune into the subtle movings within generating equanimity, peace and gratitude that moves us to share with all living beings.

friday march 23

6:30-8:30pm

$30 (all proceeds will be donated to covering millie’s operation)

spacious embrace

navigating the weave of our being.

it is the space that holds us together.

A SEVEN WEEK INTENSIVE

we will explore the chakra system through movement, meditation and conversation to deepen our practice and understanding of why we are the way that we are.

“I found the Spacious Embrace classes was a sweet exposure to new ways of thinking about connections to not only what's going on inside me but my connections outside of me as well. It was a change of consciousness and a courteous way to consider what is kind to not only myself but how I might extend that outward to others. It was a step into something more expansive and open and I want to thank you for being our guide. You are a gentle, beautiful soul and it really comes out in how you relate, speak and express yourself.”

love matters more

love matters more

we get busy, and we get bored, we get caught up, and swept away. we all have our collections of things that come before love—but what if love matters more?

what if we took care of ourselves first?
what if we truly showed up for others?
what if we were present enough to nurture our relationships?
what if we made time for love?
what if we could see others as an extension of ourselves?
what if we learned what unconditional self love felt like?

each wednesday, beginning february 14, we will post our weekly theme along with a prompt that asks us to make love matter more. you can follow along quietly or you can participate for your chance to win a gift from one of the hosts. at the end of our six week stimuli you will be entered into the winners draw by making a weekly posting (6 in total) in response to the prompts that we post. each day between the introduction of our themes, we, the hosts, will post our thoughts, inspirations, and discoveries to enrich and encourage our process of making love matter more.

our hosts are:

kristi campbell
you can find kristi teaching yoga at kindred yoga or being taught yoga in her living room by her 4 year old daughter abigail, either way she lives, breathes and is tattooed in yoga.

lauren hart
you can find lauren teaching yoga in lethbridge, hosting retreats in montana, making malas for her jewelry line and organizing creative community at her hawk and harvest markets around alberta.

brandi stuber
you can find brandi hiding in the trees, wandering the river valley, talking to animals with her sidekick, big-little dog gizmo, who guards the homestead while she guides people to inner peace at kindred yoga.

danielle hodgman
you can find danielle smiling at the station, and still smiling even if it takes you forever to decide which pastry to choose. she also shares that patience at the library while you choose which book goes with your chosen pastry.

to enter make a facebook or instagram post tagging kindred yoga so we can see! to qualify for a chance to win one of our beautiful gifts you must make a post for all six weeks. share with us how you make love matter more!

unconditional love - a practice for luna

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
join us for a workshop exploring unconditional love. yoga is a practice and place where we can peer into the space of our hearts in an unconditional way. we are joining together to offer a workshop that expands the space of our heart releasing restrictions, judgments, habits, and fears that limit our potential of giving and receiving love:

12:00-12:30 JEN PERRE - JOURNEY TO HEART
we will begin with a few postures to bring us into our body preparing our spine for a seated loving kindness meditation that bring us into our heart space.

12:30-1:00 JANE GRANT - EXPERIENCE OF LOVE
we will explore the physical, sensory, and thought aspects of the experience of love. how do we embrace love and how do we let it go?

1:00-1:40 TIFFANY BRAUN - HIPS TO HEART
a practice that explores how the things we hold in our hips create a holding in our heart.

1:40-2:20 BRANDI STUBER - THE TRUTH OF LOVE
what is love? a practice that questions our conditions and realigns us to the innocence of our heart.

2:20-3:00 KRISTI CAMPBELL - GIVING FROM THE HEART
when we release our expectations we are free to give ourselves the love we require to serve others.

special guest JAYDEN MILLER will join us with his acoustic guitar for savasana.

A PRACTICE FOR LUNA
dogs are the spark that light our heart open. they are our forever friends, our gentle guides, and a reflection of the capacity we hold for unconditional love.

this practice is for our friend luna. she suffered an accident that required her to make an emergency trip to calgary to receive a surgery that saved one of her legs from being amputated. kristi, our dear friend and one of our instructors at kindred yoga, rescued luna in december, and her family now faces unexpected veterinarian fees. in order to help kristi and her family all proceeds from the event will go to luna’s recovery.

INVESTMENT

say yes - a yogathon

my heart could not be more full as we approach the last weekend of awakening heart—the process of life and the practice of yoga: 200 hour teacher training. i am so grateful these 6 beautiful women said yes to this journey and showed up every weekend with an open heart. they have done incredible work and have made such an impact on my life, this will remain an unforgettable experience.

sunday december 3 is our last day and we want to share and celebrate with you! we will be hosting a yogathon at the studio to raise awareness for Medicine Hat Adaptive Sport and Recreation (MHASR). there is a suggested $10 donation to attend each class, or $50 to do the whole day. the donations will go towards “One for All” Summer Day Camps, which is a summer camp for children with disabilities—many of these children do not have the opportunity to go to other camps due to their needs or a misunderstanding of their needs. MHASR runs 6 weeks of camps (which were full in less than 24 hours this past summer) they had 100 children with and without disabilities from Medicine Hat and area come to their camps. in order to give every child an opportunity to play we want to support MHASR in continuing to expand their “One for All” Summer Day Camps program. you can learn more about MHASR here, they even have an adapted yoga class!

each teacher will lead us through a one hour class, we will have a half hour break between each class for those who choose to come or go. there will be snacks and sips to keep us fueled throughout the day. we’d love to share with you and have you stay for the entire day:

8:00-9:00am - melissa kuryluk

9:30-10:30am - dorothy kroeker

11:00-12:00pm - erin schwab

12:30-1:30pm - kristi campbell

2:00-3:00pm - diane tse
